Q: Do I have to have a Section 8 Voucher?
A: No. We gladly accept Section 8 Vouchers but they are not required to rent an apartment.
Q: Do you “Go by Income?”
A: No. 3501 St. Claude is not public housing but our rental rates are set by the federal government. And only residents whose income is below a certain amount may rent apartments at 3501 St. Claude. But the rent you pay is standardized and is not according to your income unless you have a Section 8 Voucher.
Q: What is the minimum age to live at 3501 St. Claude?
A: 55 years old
Q: What utilities do I pay?
A: Tenants are responsible for electric, phone, cable and water.
Q: What appliances come with the home?
A: All apartments include washers, dryers, disposals, refrigerators, and dishwashers.
Q: Why is there a daycare on site?
A: We recognize the reality that senior citizens often have child-care responsibilities for their grandchildren. Residents of 3501 St. Claude will have first priority for their grandchildren to enroll in the daycare at 3501 St. Claude. The daycare is being operated by the YMCA. Q: Are pets allowed?
A: Dogs and cats are not allowed. Fish, hamsters and gerbils are allowed.
